Resumen:
BIOMATTER aims to develop and manufacture a kit for skin regeneration comprising: tool for surgical biopsy, the automatic device for obtaining keratinocytes (skin cells) and a bioabsorbable membrane suitable for the simultaneous growth of dermis and epidermis. These three elements allow the taking of the biopsy, the separation of the keratinocytes of the skin and the introduction of a medium suitable for the regeneration of epidermis and dermis in a single surgical procedure. One of the global challenges in the field of tissue engineering is to develop skin substitutes that includes the integration of dermis and epidermis. The key to the effectiveness of the skin regenerative process depends on the material used for the development of membranes and their interaction with the cell type being grown. The membrane of the kit meets the conditions for cell growth: permanent, biocompatible, porous and suitable for the simultaneous growth of autologous dermal and epidermal cells. The development of the surgical tool and the automatic device for cell separation will improve the performance of similar products found in the international market. The advantages of this kit for skin regeneration are: no stage of cell culture in vitro, excellent biocompatibility, aesthetic advantages, since the regenerated skin acquire the same properties as the rest of the patient's skin, lower cure times in the patient and a surgical procedure less invasive and traumatic.
