Iron pillared clays as catalysts in propane oxidation: the influence of the texture

The preparation of iron pillared clays and their application in environmental processes is studied, in this case the reaction of total propane oxidation. The materials were prepared from a natural clay and intercalated with an oligocation obtained from a solution of [Fe3(OCOCH3)7OH.2H2O]NO3 , then were calcinated at 500ªC. The resultant materials have different behaviors in the reaction, where the texture plays an important role.
