Resumen:
The development of new porous materials with specific physicochemical properties is interesting in several scientific and technological fields, where the study of its porosity is the most relevant analysis. In the last years, nanostructured carbons (NC) have rapidly attracted the attention due to their interesting properties useful for many applications among them in adsorption and catalysis [1]. Unlike the traditional methods to synthesize carbon materials, a high control of porosity and ordered structure can be obtained using a nanocasting technique to produce novel materials [2]. In this procedure, an inorganic porous material is chosen as a template and it is impregnated with a carbon precursor. In this work, the syntheses of NC materials were carried out by the nanocasting method, using SBA-15 as template and sucrose as carbon source. SBA-15 samples with different wall thicknesses were used to obtain NC materials with different porosity. The textural characterization of this kind of porous materials is usually obtained by N2 adsorption-desorption at 77 K [3], but adsorption with other gases gives complementary information useful for their design and applications. In order to obtain a more detailed porosity information, N2, Ar and CO2 sorption measurements at 77 K and 273 K, respectively, were carried out. Among the known methods to analyze adsorption data, there were selected those which are the most specific to obtain reliable information about the specific surface, pore volumes and pore size distribution.
