Resumen:
Direct recoil spectroscopy (DRS) combined with time of flight methods is a relatively low-cost technique that takes little space in the vacuum chamber and can provide information about the surface composition, including hydrogen, and the relative position of surface atoms in singlecrystals. In this talk we will summarise some cases studied at CAB during the past 5 years, these include adsorption of atoms (H, K, Cs, O) on GaAs(110) and growth of thin insulating films (AlF3) on metals (Cu and Al). Electron exchange processes between the projectiles and these surfaces and their dependence on the local electronic structure will also be discussed.
