Recently, this journal published a paper by Du et al (2006 Nanotechnology 17 4923) about the synthesis, morphological characterization and magnetic properties of Mn3O4 nanorods. This work presented an interesting synthesis procedure and its morphological characterization but there were mistakes in the interpretation of the observed magnetic properties. In this comment, we present the correct interpretation of the magnetic results and we provide other useful references for the reader.et al (2006 Nanotechnology 17 4923) about the synthesis, morphological characterization and magnetic properties of Mn3O4 nanorods.
