Resumen:
Argentina is full of contradictions, particularly in gender equity and diversity. Despite recent advances such as the egalitarian marriage law that was passed in 2010, cultural stereotypes on gender persist. The contradictions are also found within the scientific community, where several measures that were undertaken to improve the situation of women scientists coexist with episodes of gender violence or discrimination due to unconscious bias. Here we present examples of positive changes and of persistent problems that still call for a solution.
