The International Union of Pure andApplied Physics and its Working Group on Women in Physics

In this talk I will describe what the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics has been doing (and still is) to address gender issues and to advance along the lines of the wider diversity and inclusion agenda. In particular, I will give a brief summary of the creation of its Working Group on Women in Physics and of the activities carried out by the group over the past 20 years. I will focus on the impact of the group?s actions on both the IUPAP structure and procedures and on those of the activities that it sponsors, mainly, international conferences and awards.
