Resumen:
In this essay Lasa interprets the work of Leo Strauss adopting the same method of Strauss, consisting in writing and reading ´between the lines´. The author outlines the main purpose of Strauss, who tends to consider the modernity as a progressive destruction of Western civilization, within the attempt of synthesizing the principles of Athens and Jerusalem. Strauss conceives the philosophy essentially as metaphysics, which is not submissive to historical facts and recognizes the possibility of the Revelation as a fundamental condition for the progress of the humanity.
