In this research, which aims at investigating water absorption, in accordance with NBR 9778, into the concrete, it was examined the influence of natural and ground rice husk ash (RHA), burnt without controlled temperature. Water/binder ratios of 0.45, 0.55 and 0.65 were adopted, as well as contents of RHA equal to 15% and 25%, up to 91 days. It was, also accomplished, compressive strength in the ages of 7, 28, 91 days, respectively. The results were compared to a reference mix with cement ratio of 100%. The gotten results for the absorption had demonstrated that the addition of RHA in the concrete ones did not promote significant changes in comparison to the reference concrete ones. For the compressive strength, the RHA addition promoted increases that if had become evident in more advanced ages, except for the mixtures with natural RHA ratio equal to 25%. except for the mixtures with natural RHA ratio equal to 25%.
