Resumen:
en ChecoThe advances in concrete technology have given place to new structural and architectural applications beyond the traditional construction with this material. Among them, the incorporation of colour to concrete and other cementitious materials, such as the use of colour concrete in prefabricated elements, tiles and ornaments, allows for a better integration of the constructions in the surrounding environment. Among examples of colour concrete structures, it is worth to mention the e-Tower of São Paulo, in Brazil, where the high performance red concrete of the base columns reached a compressive strength of 125 MPa. In Japan, the piers of the Ritto bridge, cast with a beige self compacting concrete and the Kitakyushu River Walk, were five concrete buildings combine a refined colour scheme with imaginative irregular shapes, are special examples of modern concrete. A recent application of colour self-compacting concrete (C-SCC) is in the Justice City of Barcelona, in Spain, where the structural concrete facades of eight buildings were made of C-SCC; red, yellow, green, orange, brown, black, and white.
