Resumen:
This paper is anattempt to stablish a periodization of the whole development of psychology in Argentina. Afirst period began with the clinical,experimental and social pychology, between 1895 and 1920.  A second period, which coudl be calledperiodo of philosphical psychology,during the 1920 and 1930. The third period is characterized by the so called psychotecnics and professional guidance,between 1940 and 1962. A fourth period, between 1962-1983, was characterized bythe hegemony of psychoanalysis and bypubllic debates around ther professionalrole. A fifth period, from 1983 to nowadays is characterized by the legal reccognition in the whole countryof the psychologist degrre in the whole country and the increasing institutionalizacion of psychology.
