Psychology in Argentina has also a long past. First laboratories and psychological courses were established at the end of 19th Century. Undergraduate programs in Psychology were established at the middle of 20th Century. Therefore, since the 1960 began the history of psychologists. There are two main features of history of psychologists in Argentina. First, the clinical biases. Second, the psychoanalytical approach, not only directed clinical or psychotherapeutics issues, but also directed all the fields in Psychology. The address will focus onto the political and social conditions that founded such psychology characterization in the country. On the one hand, it will be pointed out main characteristics of psychology education at university between 1960 and 1980. On the other hand, institutional changes since 1984 up to nowadays will be analyzed, with special regards to political changes in the country in those days. Finally, a comparison with the situation in other Latin American countries will be pointed out.
