Resumen:
On the Possibility of Observing Tunable Laser-Induced Bandgaps in GrapheneGraphene offers a wealth of fascinating opportunities for the study of truly twodimensionalphysics [1]. The last years have seen an unprecedented pace of developmentregarding the study of its electronic, mechanical, and optical properties, amongmany others. More recently, the interplay between these properties is making itsway to the forefront of graphene research [2?5], opening up many promising pathsfor technology. Here, we focus on the interplay between optical and electronic properties, and we address the issue of tunability of the latter using a laser field. In thefollowing we give a brief overview to this topic, with emphasis on our recent work, which we extend in the forthcoming sections.
