Resumen:
The skarn is located in the Cordillera del Viento region of NW Neuquén, underlying hydrothermalbreccias located in the cupola of the stock Tonalita Butalón Formation. The skarn consists of an innergarnet (Ad84-99 Gr0-12 Py1-4 Ad76-46 Gr20-50 Py4) and an outer clinopyroxene (Di51-73 Hd25-44 Jo1-6) zones with magnetite (10-15%) that overprints a metamorphic aureole (biotite hornfels). Thismagnetite-rich skarn originated by the interaction of Permian volcaniclastic rocks of the Choiyoi Group with hydrothermal fluids derived from Pre-Eocene dikes of the Tonalita Butalon Formation. Based on fluid inclusions in garnet, the prograde skarn formed from moderate saline fluids with temperatures between 220º and 320º C (Th L+V).skarn consists of an innergarnet (Ad84-99 Gr0-12 Py1-4 Ad76-46 Gr20-50 Py4) and an outer clinopyroxene (Di51-73 Hd25-44 Jo1-6) zones with magnetite (10-15%) that overprints a metamorphic aureole (biotite hornfels).
