Altar Prospect (31º 29' LS y 70º 28´LO) is a  miocene (10.38 Ma, Ar/Ar) porphyry Cu-(Au-Mo) located in the Main Cordillera in the SW of San Juan Province, 25 km northward of the Pachón world class deposit. In this contribution is analyzed the distribution of the alterations and mineralizations in the N 6517000 central section of the deposit. The copper, molybdenum and gold are correlated with the hypogene mineralization events that precipitated sulfides (and oxides) disseminated in the altered rocks and in several generations of veinlets, and also with the subsequent supergene processes.
