Resumen:
This list reports 515 species in 163 genera from Argentina. The foundation for modern studies of the Miridae was laid by Carvalho in his (1955) ?Keys to the Genera of Miridae of the World? and his (1957?1960a) ?Catalogue of the Miridae of the World.? Schuh and J. Slater (1995,172?173) gave an updated key to the subfamilies. A key to subfamilies, based on nymphs, was given by Akingbohungbe (1974, 693). The numerous studies published subsequent to Carvalho?s (1957?1960a) ?Catalogue? made many changes and greatly increased the total numbers of genera and species in the Miridae; these were included in Schuh?s (1995) ?Plant Bugs of the World? and subsequent changes in the electronic catalog: http://research.amnh.org/pbi/catalog/. Cassis and Schuh (2012) gave a historical comparison of tribal classifications and the most up-to-date classifications.
