Resumen:
Up to dy, only femora-hemelytra and conexival colour patterns were the diagnostics characters used for differentiating Microtomus conspicillaris Drury and M. kuntzeni Stichel, 1926. After the analysis of 76 specimens from (Bahia, Minas Gerais, Espirito Santo, Sao Paulo, Paraná, Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catharina) and Argentina (Misiones, Corrientes), we are able to conclude that M. conspicillaris is a synonyme of kuntzeni. The characters mentioned before employed to separate them are variable and of low discriminatory value. In this report M. conspicillaris is described with new characters, among them, are the male and female genitalia and the morphology of the chorion and operculum of the egg. New records of geographic distribution are given.
