Resumen:
Integrated Coastal Management (ICM) is a process that assembles the authorities and the community, scientists and managers in which sectorial and public interests converge.Its objective is to prepare and implement an integrated plan for the protection and development of the ecosystems and resources of coastal zones.The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) has recognized the ICM as the appropriate tool to ensure the sustainable development of coastal areas.
