Extreme Events in the Dynamical Behavior of Laser Systems

We review the dynamical behavior of different laser systems like laser with modulated parameter, laser with saturable absorber, laser with injected signal both from the experimental and theoretical point of view. We analyze the generation of extreme events in such kind of systems and we describe the particularities such phenomena have in strictly deterministic systems like the probability distribution of pulse intensity, the evolution of trajectories in phase space and the predictability of extreme events.
