Resumen:
The Rio de la Plata Craton is one of the main Precambrian Cratons of the South American Continent (3.6 Ga and 1.8 Ga), as part of Rodinia Supercontinent. This craton was defined by Almeida (1973, fide Dalla Salda 2006) and widely described by Dalla Salda et al. (2006). The Rio de la Plata Craton occupies a portion of the southern part of South America, extending from the region of Córdoba Ranges and Tandilia in Argentina until the north of Uruguay and southernmost Brazil, in which some Neoproterozoic basins are involved.      Two of this sedimentary basins show a very important ?Upper Mesoproterozoic-Neoproterozoic geological records compose by siliciclastics (quarzites, conglomerates, breccias and shales) and carbonates (limestones, marls and dolostones) rocks. The aim of this contribution is to compare both basins defined here as “Olavarría Basin” in Argentina and “Arroyo del Soldado Basin” in Uruguay (Fig. 1), and to correlate their geological record and events.
