Resumen:
Whitin the Paraná Basin, particulate P represents 90 and 99% of the total P transport in the Upper Paraná and Bermejo Rivers, respectively. River suspended matter plays and important rol in the nutrient budgets of upstream dams and in regulating primary production and nutrient cycling in downstream floodplain environments. In this paper we study the seasonal variation in the P, nitrogen (N) and carbon (C) content and the P fractionation of the seston in the Lower Paraná River and compared it with that of its main sources the seston of the Upper Paraná ands the Bermejo River.
