Resumen:
Adequate calcium (Ca) and vitamin D intakes are critical to achieve oral and skeletal health. Bone metabolism and dental condition may be affected by insufficiency/deficiency of these components. Objective: to evaluate the effect of nutritional status of Ca and vitamin D on dental condition. This study was carried out in a group of 124 young students, 20 to 35 years old (24.6±0.4), 85% females. Methods: Usual Ca intake (CaI) was determined by a food-frequency questionnaire. Dental status was evaluated making a full odontogram, several oral indexes were also recorded.
