Electrooxidation of concentrated formic acid solutions on Palladium Nanostructured Electrodes

Studies carried out in our laboratory showed that Pd presents a notably different behavior regarding the rest of noble metals. From the obtained results it can be concluded that even at high HCOOH concentration, the spontaneous dissociative adsorption of the formic acid is still verified on palladium, leading to the adsorbed hydrogen (Had) formation. Therefore, the present results validate the reaction mechanism previously proposed for the FAO on Pd in dilute HCOOH solutions.
