Resumen:
The Tafel-Heyrovsky-Volmer kinetic mechanism, coupled with a process of inhibition of active sites by the reversible electroadsorption of hydroxil species, was employed to describe the unusual dependences of the current density on overpotential of the hydrogen oxidation reaction (hor) recorded at different rotation rates on a polycrystalline ruthenium electrode in a H2SO4 solution. The corresponding set of kinetic parameters were evaluated from the correlation of the experimental results with the proposed kinetic model.
