Resumen:
In the western South Atlantic, short-beaked common dolphins, Delphinus delphis, and dusky dolphins, Lagenorhynchus obscurus, are the most abundant small cetaceans. The common dolphin is a widely distributed species that inhabits temperate, subtropical, and tropical habitats, while dusky dolphins are restricted to cold temperate waters in the southern hemisphere. Information about common dolphins feeding ecology in the southwest Atlantic is lacking. This paper provides an appraisal of the diet and feeding habits of common and dusky dolphins, two sympatric species inhabiting North Patagonia, in order to analyze how these species are using the available food resources.
