Resumen:
The target annihilation problem in a one-dimensional geometry is solved exactly in the case when there is a finite annihilation rate for the target hit by a walker. The Glarum-Bordewijk defect-diffusion model for dielectric relaxation can then be solved without imposing the condition of instantaneous relaxation upon an encountering diffusing defect - target. Another interesting application is to the problem of ionic currents through cell membranes.
