In the discovery of chlordiazepoxide and diazepam as anxioselective compounds, the 1,4 benzodiazepines have been an important source of research. However, they have shown considerable side effects and the design of innovative drugs withiut them is required. The pyrazoloquinolinone nucleus constitutes an important structural target, for this reason we studied the synthesis of compounds 3a-b based on the rationalization of the common structural requirements for the binding to the benzodiazepine receptor (BzR).
