Resumen:
The syn and anti conformers of the hithertounknown fluorocarbonylsulphenyl fluoride FC(O)SF wereformed through the photochemical reactions between OCS andF2, isolated in solid Ar. The reactions were followed by Fouriertransform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and the unknownproducts were proposed by comparison of the observed IRabsorptions with their computed IR spectra. The reactions occurthrough a 1:1 molecular complex between OCS and F2, formingthe anti-FC(O)SF first, which subsequently transforms into thesyn form, through a randomization process. At longer times ofirradiation, FC(O)SF decomposes by extrusion of a CO moleculewith the concomitant formation of SF2 and the formation of a difluorophosgene molecule, OCF2. The migration of fluorine atomsin the matrixes is proposed to explain the formation of SF4 and SF6.
