The pH gradient modeling instrumental data, such as spectroscopic signals, represents a simple alternative to introduce an additional mode to obtain high?order data. This approach can be especially useful for the quantitation of pH?dependent compounds in environmental, biological and food samples. Through some real examples, this chapter will discuss how to deal with the analysis of this type of data, which poses special challenges to multivariate calibration algorithms.
