Resumen:
The Raman spectra of solid and liquid perfluoromethyl oxalate and its IR spectrain the gaseous, solution(CCI,) and solid phases have been recorded. Thefluorine NMR spectrum of the substancein.CC14 solutionhas also been obtained. A comparison ofthe vibrational spectra in the solid andfluid phases shows that perfluoromethyl oxalate exists in the fluid phases as a conformationalmixture, whereas in the solid phase itseems to exist as a single conformerof harm-planar C,, structure. A band assignment has been attempted forthenormal vibrational modes of this conformer.
