Abstract: The Egyptian readings of the Asiatic otherness. A consideration through Middle Kingdom´s textual and material sources.
The relationship between Egypt and the Asiatics during the Middle Kingdom can be delineated through textual and material evidences. In this paper, we deal with texts and inscriptions related to Asiatics during the Middle Kingdom, to recognize the different readings of the Asiatic otherness Egyptians expressed through them. Specially, we take into account the symbolic bias many texts reveal and the material remains Asiatics left in Egypt.
