Resumen:
A two-step wavelet-spectral method for regularizing linear ill-posed problems is presented. A wavelet expansion followed by thresholding constitutes the first step while the second step consists of the application of a classical spectral regularization method which satisfies certain conditions. Orders of convergence are obtained and it is shown that, under certain hypotheses, the two-step method is optimal. Finally, numerical results are presented for the case of an integral operator.
