Resumen:
Heavy Ion Collisions at RHIC have motivated an increasing interest in the properties of deconfined quark-gluon plasma. From the theoretical point of view this is a strongly-coupled system, where the gauge/string duality is an excellent tool to use. I will give an introduction to the role of string theory corrections to type IIB supergravity backgrounds at finite temperature which are dual to strongly-coupled supersymmetric plasmas. I will consider the U(1) R-symmetry current two-point functions, and describe them at hydrodynamic regime in the dual field theories, focussing upon the leading finite ´t Hooft coupling corrections to R-charge transport coefficients. I will show general results for AdS-Schwarzschild black-hole with a compact Einstein manifold and describe an explicit example of ten-dimensional calculation of plasma conductivity, including the leading order type IIB string theory corrections.
