Resumen:
We report here an interesting document from the XIX century related with the mining district of the Acay mountain. The official paper was prepared to the order of the Salta government by Otto von Klix (1838-1903), a Germany citizen from a noble family that obtains later the Argentine citizenship.                                                                            The Acay mining district was selected because the rich silver mines exploited for centuries, first for the natives and then for Spaniards. The idea of the government research was to obtain technical information on the geology and mineralogy of the silver mines and to collect mineral samples for the “Continental Exposition” to be realized in Buenos Aires. The Klik report is interesting for several reasons and principally to be previous of other studies carried out by scientific travelers like Brackebusch, Hoskold or Hünicken. The paper of Klix is an important source of information to the history of mining and the state of the art of the mining activity in Salta province during the late XIX century.
