Resumen:
The Rb-Sr geochronology study on the “La Aurora” pegmatite from Mazán pegmatite field in Sierras Pampeanas has defined a ‘errorchron’ with an age of 461.8 ± 9.0 Ma and a 87Sr/86Sr initial ratio = 0.704. In general, the age obtained can be considered in agreement with the crystallization age of the parental Mazán granite, but with a gap of around 22 Ma between the granitic-magmatic episode and pegmatitic crystallization. The initial ratio seems too low for the pegmatite body considering the parental Mazán granite due to this is peraluminous, is cordierite bearing and contains metasedimentary enclaves.
