Resumen:
We have shown experimental evidence of electron, ion and solvent
exchange in redox PEM films under electrochemical oxidation and
reduction perturbation. The class of ion exchanged with the electrolyte
can be controlled by suitable choice of the solution pH during selfassembly
and testing.
A molecular theory that explicitly accounts for all the shape and
size of all species, the different interactions and the acid-base and redox
equilibria describes the structure and strong coupling between the ionic
species. It predicts some of the experimental evidences discussed.
