Resumen:
Adsorption of pollutants on suitable adsorbents is a well known strategy to purify water. The contaminant saturated adsorbent becomes a dangerous waste that should be appropriately disposed. By the other hand advanced oxidation processes are very effective for the degradation of recalcitrant organic pollutants in water. The combination of both adsorption and advanced oxidation is a promising alternative to remove and mineralize organic contaminants. Clays are effective adsorbents widely use to remove both organics and metals that can be easily combined with Photo-Fenton process. In this paper we demonstrate the feseability to couple adsorption with Photo-Fenton to separate and mineralize crystal violet dissolved in water.
