Resumen:
we report the properties of a trinuclear cyanide bridged complex, trans-[(DMAP)4RuII{(mu-NC)OsIII(CN)5}2]4- (DMAP =4-dimethylaminopyridine), whose structural, electronic and vibrational spectroscopic data present unambiguous evidence of partial redox states for the three metallic ions, an unprecedented feature for cyanide bridged systems. Additionally, the one-electron oxidized Ru(III) species, trans-[(DMAP)4RuIII{(mu-NC)OsIII(CN)5}2}3- 13-, has also been isolated as well as the related complexes trans-[(DMAP)4RuII{(mu-NC)-FeIII(CN)5}2]4-, and trans-[(DMAP)4RuIII{(mu-NC)CoIII(CN)5]2}3- , which help in the interpretation of the novel properties of the Os system
