Resumen:
Hard templates of silica can be employed as a new tool in the synthesis of ceramics materials with specific morphology and small dimensions. However, these preparations involve the use of expensive starting materials such as TEOS, among others. In this work, the synthesis of biosilica from rice husk, which is a waste without economic value with high Si content, is presented. In this way, mesoporous biosilica was quickly obtained from fast pyrolysis of acid-treated and untreated rice husk using a bed reactor and inert atmosphere. All silica samples have been morphologically and structurally characterized to achieve a porous template with desired properties. Once the best template was obtained, it was used for the alternative preparation of perovskite LaCoO3, a promising candidate as electrode component in renewable energy conversion or storage devices.
