Resumen:
There are currently several types of Rb available on the market for the treatment of keratoconus . Riboflavin with or without dextran has been traditionally used, and some alternative formulations, known as transepithelial Rb (or epi-on), have been developed that allow not to debride the corneal epithelium (1). With the development of the accelerated cross-linking of the company Avedro, new Rb were introduced to the market, favoring a rapid diffusion in the corneal tissue, and reducing the treatment time. Among Avedro's Rb, there are ?Vibex rapid? (Riboflavin/HPMC) and ?Trans-Epithelial kit? (Riboflavin/NaCl and Riboflavin/benzalkonium Chloride). Generic Rb with dextran and without dextran are also commercially available. In this work, we analyze the characteristics of photo physic and photodynamic action of the different Rbs commercially available using L-tryptophan as a model molecule
