Resumen:
ABSTRACT The singlet oxygen photogenerated was studied from the ethanolic extract of the fruits of Syzygium cumini. The extract was obtained with ethanol (96%) through percolation and characterized by colored phytochemical tests. Photogeneration of the singlet oxygen was followed by UV-Vis spectrophotometry and using rubrene as chemical trapping agent. The overall kinetic showed that the reaction was the pseudo-first order with a rate constant of 0.011 s-1.
