Resumen:
The optical properties of noble metal nanoparticles(NPs) have been demonstrated to have extensive applications in many different fields, like ultrasensitive spectroscopies, photonics, imaging, biosensors, cancer therapy. These optical properties are determined by the collective excitation of conduction electrons, known as localized surface plasmon, which are highly dependent of the NP size and shape as well as of the optical properties of the medium around the NP. Therefore, a rigorous understanding of these localized plasmon needs a rigorous characterizations of the NP shape as well as of a correct characterization of the medium around the NP. In this work we have determined the far field optical properties of a single  complex NP by measuring Raylegh scattering at different incident polarizations using a darkfield optical microscope and then we were able to reconstruct its 3D complex shape. Using the 3D morphology we have performed preliminary electrodynamic simulations and compared it with the measured Rayleigh scattering.
