Resumen:
Nowadays, there is a especial interest in polyolefinfoams production. The high softening temperature ofPP makes it a good candidate for this kind ofapplications 1 . However, the linear molecular structureof isotactic PPs yields a low melt strength that makesthe material practically unsuitable for foaming 2 .The aim of this work is to produce foamablenanocomposites (NC) by mixing an organophilicmontmorillonite (o-MMT) with a high melt strength PP.This polymer was obtained by incorporating long chainbranches in the molecular structure of an isotactic PPby reactive processing.
