Resumen:
In this paper a software tool, which was called a Model Partitioning for Simulation andOptimization (MP4SO), is presented. It carries out the partitioning and solving ofindustrial-process models to be employed for simulation and optimization. It integratesGAMS’ computational functionalities with the matrix-decomposition capabilities of theDirect Method. MP4SO was tested for the simulation and optimization of severalindustrial cases. The results show the advantages of using this partitioning-modelapproach in Process-Systems Engineering.
