Resumen:
Hydrogen production at low/medium-scale through ethanol steam reforming (ESR) has received increasing attention in recent years mainly based on environmental concerns (almost-closed CO2 cycle, low toxicity). Structured catalysts are preferred for practical implementation of ESR due to improved heat and mass transfer characteristics, enhanced control of the operating conditions and low pressure drop. This work presents experimental and theoretical results regarding the ESR over honeycomb monoliths functionalized with Pd-Rh/CeO2. We report here preparation and characterization details of the catalysts as well as their experimental evaluation. Moreover, the parameters of power-law-type reaction rate equations were fitted.
