Biodiesel is an alternative source of renewable energy with similar characteristics to petroleum-derived diesel.  The advantages of using a heterogeneous catalyst are numerous: its reutilization, the possibility to use several raw materials with different purity, downstreaming purification is simpler, soaps are not produced, and the reaction time is shorter, among others.  In this work, a novel structured catalyst is presented.
