The left part of mod A and the supported algebras

We give several characterisations for the (left) supported algebras. These are in terms of properties of the left and the right parts of the module category, or of the classes L_0 and R_0, which consist respectively of the predecessors of the projective modules, and the successors of the injective modules. In connection with this, we study the Auslander-Reiten components of an algebra A (and of its left support) which intersect the class E of indecomposable Ext-injectives of the additive subcategory generated by L_A.
