Resumen:
Detection of catechol and other phenolic compounds is very important. This work presents preliminary results of the development of an impedancimetric sensor for the detection of catechol. An ITO electrode was modified with poly(3,4- ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) using chronoamperometry technique. By using a new impedancimetric method, the admittance of the system was measured for different concentrations of catechol between 0 and 70 µM. With the new proposed method, a lower polarizationvoltage is used for the quantification of catechol, compared with the voltammetry method widely used. A LOD of 1.6 uM and a sensitivity of 2.25 µS/(µM.cm2) were obtained.
