Resumen:
Polyurethanes (PU) based on sustainable resources have become a topic of interest in terms of economy and environment. The properties they present and the wide variety of ways in which they can be obtained allow their use in various applications [1]. In particular, many of these polymers have potential applications in the field of biomaterials and biomedical engineering. However, the study of the biocompatibility of PU composite prepared on the basis of renewable resources has not been extensively addressed and is awaiting new contributions [2]. With this on mind, this work presents the preparation and characterization of PU biocomposite foams based on poly (diphenylmethane diisocyanate) (pMDI) and castor oil (CO) or modified canola oil (CanO), using cellulose nanocrystals (CN) as reinforcement.
