Resumen:
A polyurethane (PU) based on castor oil and isophoronediisocyanate, was used to prepare polyurethane/cellulose nanocrystals andpolyurethane/nanoclay composites. The composites were prepared by mixingdifferent amounts of PU and nanofiller aqueous dispersions. Composite filmswere obtained by casting on PTFE substrates and evaporating the water at 30 °C.To study the effect of the filler content on the film?s properties, compositeswere prepared with 1, 3 and 5 wt. % of nanofiller content. The samples werethen characterized using Fourier-transformed infrared spectroscopy (FTIR),UV-Vis spectroscopy, water contact angle (CA) and water swelling capacity (WS).Work is in progress to study their morphology and the thermal and mechanicalproperties.
